Climate change and invasive brown bullhead catfish represent synergistic threats to kōura. Managers need to be able to identify habitat that is likely to be both suitable for native species and unsuitable for invasive species over the coming decades. We are developing a prioritisation metric to identify potential refuge habitat for kōura across Aotearoa.
