Fish Futures was well represented at the 2022 Māori Freshwater Fisheries Conference in Taupo on 1-2 September. The research programme co-leads (Joanne Clapcott, Jane Kitson, Marc Tadaki, Robin Holmes) took the opportunity to to introduce the Fish Futures research programme to a packed house of Māori researchers; they may also have enjoyed some local freshwater kai!
Principal investigators also presented invited plenaries talking on the role of īnanga in suporting healthy tuna populations in Waituna Creek (Simon Stewart) and Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku kanakana research and mahing kai resotration journey (Jane Kitson).
