Fish Future’s co-lead Marc Tadaki has been awarded the International Geographical Union Early Career Award in Geography, an international honour recognising exceptional promise, scholarly excellence, and impactful contributions to advancing geographical research.
Marc’s work is all about helping our freshwater ecosystems thrive into the future, blending big ideas about governance, values, and knowledge systems to shape better water management. He’s a natural connector, bringing together science, policy, and community voices to tackle biosecurity challenges and protect Aotearoa New Zealand’s freshwater taonga (treasured species).
This award celebrates not just Marc’s leadership in geography, but the collaborative, cross-disciplinary energy that is so unique for Fish Futures.
Ka mau te wehi! Well done Marc, we are so proud of you.
